Obituary of Robert Leonard Hart

Robert L. Hart, Sr. age 81 of Harveys Lake, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at home. Mr. Hart was born in Bentleyville on August 5, 1931 and was the son of the late Roy and Sarah Mercer Hart. Robert graduated from McKeesport High School and retired as a pipeline welder for Steamfitters Local 420, Philadelphia. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and Army Emergency Reinforcement. Robert was a 56 year member of the Tioga Lodge 373, F and AM, VFW Post 6753 in Knoxville, and the Daddow Issac American Legion Post 672 in Dallas. His pride and joy was his 1943 Military Jeep that he fully restored. Mr. Hart was preceded in death by his wife, the former Crystal Givens. Robert is survived by his children: Rhonda Hart of Shavertown, Renee Squire of Enon Valley, and Robert Hart, Jr. of Centermoreland; brother: John Hart of Shiremanstown; grandchildren: Clay, Kara, Kristen, Kaitlin, Billy, Joey, Danny, Anne, Roy, and Stacey; great grandchildren: Hayden, Faith, Brooke and Zeke. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be sent to the Harveys Lake Fire Company, PO Box 56, Harveys Lake, PA 18618.
