Henry was always there to help when needed; he was an intelligent man. There was nothing he could not do, except make poppy and nut rolls. That was a fun time. What a mess we made in their kitchen.
He, Doreen and I would help each other with the spreading of mulch, cutting Christmas trees in my back yard; he repaired solid wood furniture legs for my daughter Cathy’s house (mover
broke it).
He was a great cook especially the Holiday dinners everyone looked forward to.
The trips made with Henry, Doreen, and other family members to Knobel’s Park were always fun. Saturday breakfast was an added treat!
Henry was a great husband to his wife Doreen, a wonderful father and mentor to his son Michael and wife Nicole. But best of all a great grand father (pop-pop) to little Maddy. She, I believe, misses him more than we will know. I believe Henry is watching over his family. God takes only the best to be by his side.
Rest in peace Henry.

We first met Henry twenty some years ago when the Virginia Boberick’s journeyed to PA for our yearly summer vacation. As visitation days turned into years, we became good friends as the conversation always centered on the great outdoors.
Hank was a Nanticoke boy to his core and he was especially proud of his involvement with the Nanticoke Conservation Club and the good things they do in the area.
With Hank, deer hunting took on a whole new meaning as several family members would gather at the “Karpinski Hunting Camp” to take part in and enjoy the yearly rituals of stand selection and spinning a tale or two while tipping back a refreshing drink. Hank brought a piece of Nanticoke to us in recent years when he and Doreen joined us on October trips to Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. This visit was highlighted by Sanitary Bakery pastries for breakfast and a whip cream cake for dessert. Hank also took the time to shop for and buy large quantities of Middleswarth chips that are not available in Virginia but craved by the Virginia Boberick family. The SNP hikes were legendary not only for the 360 degree mountain top views and outdoor beauty, but also because the hikes that were supposed to be short and easy, always ended with multiple questions of “how much farther do we have to go” and always responded with “not much farther” or “we’re almost there.” Ultimately, the hikes ended with “It didn’t seem that long the last time we hiked it.”
Hank was a special person, respectful, kind, polite, honest and friendly to young and old alike. He never met a stranger he wouldn’t talk to and he always had a smile on his face. His questions weren’t meant for the simple answers, he truly wanted to know how you were doing as well as the children and grand children.
He treated Mom and Dad like he was one of their boys and when he married Doreen, he became one. Hank liked being part of a big family. He loved Doreen, Michael and Nicole but he especially loved being a Pop-Pop to Maddy.
Time is fleeting but you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again,
Jeff and Julia Boberick

After reading all that people wrote about Hank, No words can describe how genuine he really was. In the 20+ years my wife Cyndi and I knew him, he treated people like he wanted to be treated. Kind, Thoughtful, Loving, Understanding, and Knowledgeable, always made you feel welcome. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
In Loving Memory,
Cyndi & Steve Boberick

I've known *Hank* literally my entire life and he was one of the most kindest human beings I have ever meant. Not a mean bone in his body. He will be greatly missed.

On behalf of The Department of General Services, we offer our condolences to Hank’s family. I met Hank about 24 years ago when he first started his career with Department of General Services. Over those 24 years I got to know Hank professionally as well as personally. Hank was dedicated to his craft and was dedicated to his position with the Department of General Services. He developed a close working relationship with everyone involved in a project. Personally, he always asked me about my bride, my pup, and my mom. We also had many discussions regarding hunting updates and other outdoor activities. He was always genuinely interested in having a good conversation. His love for Doreen and Michael was evident in the way that he spoke so highly of them and for how proud he was of everything they accomplished. Hank retired and remained in touch, sending me a text at the holidays or just a text asking how everything was going. He was a man of integrity and an all-around good guy. He will be missed by all that were fortunate to know him.
Sincerely Mike Hudzik

Henry was a true gentleman and a caring friend. We can all consider ourselves lucky to have known him. He will be missed by all of us in the Nanticoke Conservation Club.
The breakfast meetings will not be the same without him. Forever in our hearts and minds.
