Obituary of William John Andrews

William “Bill”John Andrews, age 70 of Buck Township, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 at home, surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Allentown on June 2, 1951 and grew up in Egypt, PA. He was the son of the late Jack and Verna Lipositz Andrews. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 1969. He was a musician for many years, working with several bands throughout Allentown and the Poconos. He was also self-employed as a carpenter. He later joined the staff at Bear Creek Community Charter School where he worked in maintenance however; his passion was assisting the music teacher whenever he had the chance. Bill loved Nascar, motorcylces, rebuilding cars and tinkering with his camper. Bill is survived by his wife of 29 years, the former Jane Taylor; children, Aaron Andrews of Bear Creek, William C. Andrews of Kresgeville, PA, Adam Nordfors (Ania), Toronto, Canada, Kristy Taylor (Christian Hampel) of Dallas, Amy Butler of Noxen; sister, Diane Missel-Merwin of South Carolina, son-in-law, Lee Butler, Noxen. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; Zachary and Kaleb Taylor, Brady, Bowman and Sadie Butler, Wayland, Fae and Delta Nordfors and great-granddaughters Aria and Charlotte Butler. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks go to his sisters-in-law Joan Belles and Ann Taylor for all their help and support. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 6:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Hadley Hayes, officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
