Obituary of Sylvester Kuchinskas

Sylvester Kuchinskas passed away Tuesday April 6, 2021. He was born in Edwardsville, PA on April 13, 1927 the son of the late Vincent Kuchinskas and Constance Zavisky. He attended Edwardsville Schools and he enlisted in the United State Navy during WWII and served aboard the USS Canberra in the Pacific Theater, being honorably discharged with multiple medals. He was a Golden Glove Champion in 1951 and 1952 in Buffalo, NY. After marrying the love of his life, his Bunky, Joan Dankis, he owned and operated Syl's Auto Sales in Plymouth, PA until he retired at age 90. It was there he made his friends where you could always See Syl and Save. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joan Kuchinskas, his son-in-law Dr. Peter Kaminski and all his siblings. His is survived by his daughters Karen Kaminski of Harveys Lake, Sylvia Maas and husband Dr. Kurt Maas, Dallas, grandchildren Katelyn Kaminski, Peter J. Kaminski, Margarete Kukosky, Maria Conley and husband Andrew Conley, and Kelsey Maas and great grandchild Layla Lewis. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on April 9th, 2021, at 11 am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Harveys Lake, followed by interment in St. Marys of the Annunciation Cemetery, Pringle with full military honors. Arrangements are from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
