I met Mrs. Yascur through my friendship with her son, Jim, a fellow golfer at Lehman GC. I was only in her home a few times, but I immediately became fond of this smiling and kind lady. I and many of our fellow golfers would see her each year in the past when she and Jim hosted an end of season picnic in their large backyard. Mrs. Yascur was always smiling and very welcoming to our group of golfers. She had a quiet nature, but I always felt very comfortable in her presence.
I know her family will miss her greatly, but I'm also sure that you all have wonderful memories of your mom, grandma, etc. which will bring a smile to your heart in the future. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'm so happy we saw Peg's garden from the roadside as we were driving around looking for great gardens for the "Tour of Back Mountain Gardens" that one year. We stopped and knocked on her door and she came right out and began showing us her hand tended gardens and telling us stories about different plants and where she had obtained them, etc. A true gardener! We put Peg's garden on the garden tour for the following year and it was a big hit! Many people even came back that day to walk through it again and speak to Peg some more! She enjoyed the day as much as the public enjoyed her gardens. RIP Peg. xo Lisa Lindquist, The Back Mountain Bloomers Garden Club.
