Richard C. London, age 75 of Ceasetown , passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Hospice Community Care, Inpatient Unit Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Mr. London was born May 22, 1937 at Harveys Lake and was the son of the late Richard Eljada and Mildred Susan Crispell London.
Richard was a 1955 graduate of Lake Noxen High School. After graduating he entered the Army in February 1960.Richard became an Army Specialist Five at Battery D armed with the Nike Hercules Missile. His unit was assigned to Fort MacArthur in California and was part of the nationwide U.S. Army Air Defense Command. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Of America for 46 years.
Mr. London was a member of Victory Baptist Bible Church and later Outlet Bible Tabernacle where he was on the Deacons Board at both churches.
He was preceded in death by his sisters: Mina London and Jenny Milbrodt; brothers: Theodore London and Ernest London.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, the former Barbara Sorber; sons: Anthony London, and Brian London and his wife Kathleen, and granddaughter Brianna, all of Ceasetown; brother: Pete London; sisters: Ethel Bielecki of Harveys Lake, Marian May of Harveys Lake, and Flora Milbrodt of Stanfield, OR.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Carl Howie II of the Outlet Bible Tabernacle, officiating.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the funeral home on Sunday.
Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
