I worked with Stew at Techneglas for many years, he was a great friend who talked about his awesome wife and kids all the time. We kept in touch even after he left Techneglas and helped each other through alot of what life throws at us!! I will always remember singing the song by the Eagles "bells will be ringing" around Christmas time with him.... he was a great harmonizer!! Condolences to all of the Calkins family. I just found out of his death and was so sad to hear of it. May he rest in the peace of God's arms for eternity!! God Bless!!! xoxoxoxo

Liz and the family of Stew Calkins- When we heard the news of Stew's passing we knew that we had lost a good friend, he is missed by many. He often came to the farm to visit, I miss his presence. I know that my late brother, Larry, appreciated the many homecooked meals that Stew brought to him. I will remember Stew as kind, generous, and talented . His absence leaves a huge void,I am fortunate to have had the pleasure of knowing him, Sincerely, Lynn and Patty Denmon

Pam, I wish there was some way to send you a big hug. I often think back on our days growing up in Oak Hill and what great friends we were. Stew was my very best friend growing up. I will miss him. Liz, I met you when we visited Aunt Pauline after Uncle Bill passed away. I was hoping that we all would get together sometime. My heart goes out to you. He will be missed.

We were on one of our weekly golfing trips to shadowbrook and while on the fifth hole or so we teed off and Stew's ball went to the left of the fairway. Well being early in the morning they had the sprinkles on. I went ahead and hit my ball then drove up to where Stew's ball was laying. Of course it was under the sprinkles. He rushed in to hit his ball and topped it so he hit it again. We got to laughing and as I drove the cart to pick him up the sprinkle came around and soaked him. Of course he blamed me for getting him wet and we laughed even harder. Every time after that when we were on that hole he would remind me how I got him soaked and we would laugh all over again. I'm really going to miss him and everytime I'm at that hole I will remember that time and laugh all over again. RIP my friend.
