I am sorry for your loss. He was my high school wrestling coach. Steve was an incredibly intelligent and honest individual. I recall many great discussions with him. He always treated us as young adults rather than children. I think a lot of teachers today should be doing that more. He was a multi talented and calm headed person and it was a privilege to be coached by him. I don't recall why we called him GOAT but I know it was used with endearment and respect. I'm sure the reason has been lost in translation over time. He will be missed. Rest in peace Coach.

Paula, I am so sorry to read of Steves passing. I know you two were extremely close and that will leave an emptiness with you for a long time. I won't be around Thursday so I hope this condolence is alright. Know my thoughts are with you always, you are a very special person with whom I have great memories. Alyson
