Obituary of Martha Genette Macialek

Martha Macialek, age 92 of Noxen, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Gardens at Tunkhannock.

She was born in Williamsport on July 21, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Laura Usmar May.

Martha was employed as a seamstress in a local dress factory. She was a member of St. Luke’s Ladies Society and was an accomplished baker. Martha’s heart and home were always open with love. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George, who passed away in November, 2001.

She is survived by sons, George (Sherry) Macialek of Springville and Kenneth (Geri) Macialek of Meshoppen; daughter, Marilyn Gillen of Noxen; grandchildren, Marc (Juanita) Macialek, Laura (Nick) Sushoreba, Benjamin (Anna) Macialek, Jason (Stefanie) Macialek, Jesse Macialek,  and James (Kristi) Gillen; 8 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 17, 2018 at 12:00 PM from the St. Luke’s Reformation Lutheran Church, Noxen, with Marty Everhart, officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
