Obituary of William Hess Lewis

William H. Lewis, 85, of Forked River, NJ, died at Harveys Lake, PA on June 11, 2012. He was the son of the late Howard and Veda Lewis, formerly of Forty Fort, PA. After graduating from Forty Fort High School, he served in the US Navy during World War II and then attended Bucknell University Junior College, now Wilkes University. He then graduated from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA, with a BS degree in chemical engineering. He was employed by Merck & Co, Inc. for 39 years, as a manager in chemical manufacturing. William lived in Clark, NJ, for 35 years before moving to Forked River, NJ in 1989. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Anna Cheponis, formerly of Plymouth, PA, a brother, H. Malcolm Lewis, formerly of Harveys Lake, PA and a sister, Delphine Lewis, formerly of Forty Fort, PA. He is survived by two sons, William Jr., Forked River, NJ; Scott, Park City, Utah, three granddaughters, four great grandsons and two great granddaughters. He is also survived by a sister, Diane Devine of Shavertown, PA. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
