Obituary of Marilyn Mae Race

Marilyn Mae Race, age 81 of Falls, "Fitches Corners", went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Race was born in Taylor on July 31, 1935 and was the daughter of the late John Russell and Anna Bonnie Miller. Marilyn graduated from Tunkhannock High School in 1953. She then married her husband, Dana E. Race on June 13, 1953. Marilyn was a member of the Northmoreland Baptist Church, Tunkhannock. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Dana E. Race; children, Caroline Wintermute and her husband Steve of Mehoopany, Dana Joe Race and his wife Karen of Berwick, Thomas Allan Race of Falls, Elaine Drumm and her husband Phillip of Salcha, AK and Linda Smith and her husband William of Tunkhannock; sisters, Barbara Rowlands and Ellen May, both of Falls; grandchildren, David, James, Christine, Matthew, Joseph, Amber, Nancy, Alisha, Sara, Violet, Olivia, Danny, Sharon and Gary; great-grandchildren, Elias, Caleb, Elijah, Levi, Henry, Aliyah, Kody, Catalina and Dominic. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Northmoreland Baptist Church, 21 Ripplebrook Rd., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Pastor James Howell and Pastor Kurt Seboe, officiating. Friends may call 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in the Memorial Shrine Park, Franklin Twp. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Wyoming and Sullivan Counties, PO Box 73, Tunkhannock, PA 18657 or WPEL Radio Station, 251 High St., Montrose, PA 18801.
