Obituary of Stanley Archavage

Stanley Archavage, Jr., age 83 of Benton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Bonham's Nursing Center, Stillwater, where he had been a resident for the last 2 years.
Mr. Archavage was born in Nanticoke, on April 11, 1932 and was the son of the late Stanley W. and Lottie Michno Archavage, Sr.
Stanley was employed by the Standard Coach Co. in Nanticoke and later became a member of the Carpenter's Union and was employed for many years by the Sordoni Construction Co. After retirement, he was kept busy helping neighbors, repairing all kinds of engines, mowing lawns and trimming trees. He also enjoyed polka and square dancing and walking several miles every day. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and as a young man, he played the accordion for weddings.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth and had attended the Christ the King Church since moving to Benton.
Preceded in death by sister, Eleanore Quinn.
He is survived by his loving wife: Jane; sons: Robert and his wife, Debra of Wilkes-Barre and Steven and his wife, Elaine of Nanticoke; brother: Joseph of Pikes Creek; sister, Florence Niezgoda of Lehman; grandchildren, Amy Trapasso of Massachusetts, Tiffany Boyle of Collegeville, and Steven Archavage of Nanticoke; great-granddaughters, Chiara Trapasso and Quinn Boyle.
Funeral will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:30 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, corner of routes 29 &118, Pikes Creek with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM from the Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, with the Rev. Richard Fox officiating.
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
Friends may call Saturday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2011 SR 29, Hunlock Creek, PA 18621 or Christ the King Church, PO Box 297, Mendenhall Lane, Benton, PA 17814.
