Obituary of LaVenia Loraine Britt

LaVenia L. Britt, of Sweet Valley, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from her home at the age of 99. Mrs. Britt was born December 16, 1915 in Bloomsburg, and was the daughter of the late Dean and Blanche Hutchings Piper. She graduated from Shickshinny High School in 1934 and was later employed at the Sweet Valley post office for 20 years, serving as Postmaster for 5 years. LaVenia was a faithful member of the Sweet Valley Church of Christ for 75 years and dearly loved her church family. Her first husband, Harold Briggs, died in 1982 and her second husband, Edwin Britt, died in 2005. She is survived by daughters: Lorelie Bonomo and husband, Richard and Loydene Kreller and her husband, Kenneth all of Sweet Valley. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Britt's funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 11:00 AM from the Sweet Valley Church of Christ, 5439 Main Road, Sweet Valley, with her Pastor, Richard Rexrode officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek. Friends may call on Monday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek.
