Obituary of Richard G. Newell

Richard G. Newell, age 76 of Monroe Township, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at home.
Mr. Newell was born in Lake Township on August 4, 1938 and was the son of the late Hiram and Alice Kraft Newell.
Richard served in the US Navy from 1959-1963 and retired from Francis Slocum State Park in Kingston Township as a grounds keeper. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed going to Mountain Springs and flea markets.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Theodore and Thomas Newell, and sisters, Mary May and Eleanor Eastwood.
Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Joann Whispell; son, Richard Newell and his partner Michael Rossi of Edwardsville; daughter, Laura Derhammer and her husband Steve of Kingston Township; brothers, Edward and James Newell, both of Harveys Lake; sister, Joan Ely of Noxen; grandchildren, Joseph, Brandon, and Steven.
As per Richard's request, there will be no funeral service or calling hours.
