Obituary of Doris Mae Hughey

Doris Mae Hughey, of Dallas , passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 11, 2015, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born on November 5, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Hontz.
Doris was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and The Women's Auxiliary. She was commonly known as 'Nanny' by friends and family. Doris was kind to many people and inspired others through her love of food and cooking. She always had a recipe to recommend or a dish to make. Doris was a talented artist and over the years traveled to Maine to paint. She had many wonderful years with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hughey, her sister Ruth Earl, her brother Thomas Hontz and her son-in-law Charles Kern.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia with whom she resided in Dallas, her two grandchildren, Scott Kern of Dallas and Jodi Kern of Arlington VA, her daughter-in-law Sare Rhodes, her two great-grandchildren Cassie and Sutton Kern, her sister Betty Youngblood of Centreville Virginia, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family requests memorial donations to be made in her name to Hospice of the Sacred Heart
