Obituary of Joyce Ponzelli

Joyce Ponzelli, age 93 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre. Mrs. Ponzelli was born in Plymouth on July 15, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Magdelina Hagel Price. Joyce graduated from Lake Township High School and resided in Pikes Creek. She then moved to Buffalo, NY where she was a buyer for William Hengerer and Co., and then moved to New Rochelle, NY where she was a market representative for Associated Dry Goods, retiring in 1986. She moved to Kingston in 1991 and attended Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Pikes Creek and later was a member of the Bethesda Congregational Church in Edwardsville. She is survived by many cousins including Tom Pugh and his wife Patricia of Wilkes-Barre, Karl Pugh and his wife Kathleen of Westminster, MD, and Everett DeSombre and his wife Edna of Dallas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Edward Gospodinsky of the Bethesda Congregational Church, officiating. Friends may call from 10:30 am to the time of the service. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
