Obituary of Donna Lee Butler

Donna Lee Butler, age 56 of Noxen, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Mrs. Butler was born in Wilkes-Barre on December 9, 1957 and was the daughter of Betty Kline Scouten of Noxen and the late Homer Scouten. Donna graduated from Lake Lehman High School and was employed as a nurse's aide at the former Smith's Rest Home in Noxen, the Star Hill Rest Home in Beaumont, and as a clerk at the former Langston's Store in Noxen. She enjoyed cooking and the outdoors, especially gardening and camping. Donna was a member of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake, the Red Rock Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother in Noxen. Most importantly Donna loved to be with her family. In addition to her mother, Donna is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dale Butler; sons, Dale Butler, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Noxen and Brian Butler of Noxen; brother, Daniel Scouten of Scranton; grandchildren, Jade, Mackenzie, and Justin; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and a great-nephew. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. L. D. Reed of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Orcutt's Grove Cemetery, Noxen. Friends may call 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
