Josephine Catherine Honeywell, age 86 of Hunlock Creek, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
Josephine was born in Scranton on May 20, 1927 and was the daughter of the late George and Agnes Murray Slatky.
She was a member of the Brethren of Christ Church in Hunlock Creek. Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Honeywell; brothers, George, Joseph, Albert, and John Slatky and sisters, Helen MacMillian, Marjorie Rogers, Ann McHenry, and Mary Foss.
Josephine is survived by sons, Donald M. Honeywell and his wife Colleen of Sweet Valley, Charles G. Honeywell and his wife Nancy of Sylvan Lake, and Harold L. Honeywell and wife Theresa of Hunlock Creek; brother, Harold Slatky and his wife Leona of Levittown; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private held at the convenience of the family from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Steve Harvey of the Brethren of Christ Church, officiating.
Private interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Hunlock Creek Fire Company, 1114 Main Rd. Hunlock Creek, PA 18621 or the Lake Silkworth Fire Company,26 Thorny Apple Dr. Hunlock Creek, PA 18621 or the Brethren of Christ Church, 894 Hartman Rd. Hunlock Creek, PA 18621.
