Obituary of Fred John Winter

Fred John Winter, age 62 of Dallas, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Winter was born in Kingston on February 13, 1951 and was the son of the late Fred N. and Hazle Garinger Winter.
Fred graduated from Lake-Lehman High School in 1970 and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Turkey during the Vietnam Era. He was employed for the social security administration for over 20 years. Fred loved to travel with his family on long trips, enjoyed hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, David and Bejamin Winter.
Fred is survived by his wife, the former Lydia Schell; son, Kevin Rusinko and his wife Colleen of Tunkhannock; daughter, Michelle Faillace of Edwardsville; brothers, Conrad Winter and his wife Sharon of Towanda, and Philip Winter and his wife Krystal of Harveys Lake; sisters, Jean Swire and her husband Ralph of Lehman, and Lori Williams and her husband Russell of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Paul and Rebecca Faillace, and Marissa Rusinko.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at 8:00 pm from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Pastor Kenneth Kreller of the River of Life Fellowship,officiating.
Friends may call 6 PM - 8PM prior to the service.
The family requests memorial donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association, 63 N Franklin St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
