Dear Aunt Bernadine, Aunt Nancy and Karen... I am so incredibly sorry to hear of Leon's passing. I always enjoyed his kind and compassionate personality. I have many great memories of being in the bar and restaurant from a young age. May you all find peace during this difficult time and may the many memories you have bring you comfort in time. We will all miss Leon's smiling face at Hun's. It was always a pleasure to see you walk through the door. Every time I have lobster at Lum's and dip into that delicious butter I'll have a smile on my face thinking of how many times I've asked how you got the butter to taste so good and you would just give me a smirk. I HAVE KNOWN SINCE I WAS LITTLE,AND WILL MISS HIM. MY DAD (CHOOCH) TOOK ME TO LUMS ON MY 16TH BDAY, AND I HAVE NEVER MISSED A YEAR. THIS YR WAS MY 40TH YEAR, AND I WAS TO SEE LEON AS ALWAYS. IM GLAD I GOT TO HUG HIM. I AM SO SORRY YOUR LOSS. YOUR WHOLE FAMILY WILL BE IN OUR PRAYERS

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Death is the enemy of all mankind, yet when it touches us personally, it is at times difficult to receive the comfort we search for. In times like these I know I can find comfort in God's word. In John 5:28,29 He tells us " Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." As the God and Father of tender mercies, He wants you to find comfort in Him through prayer ( 2 Cor 1:3 ).

My prayers and sympathies to the entire Kern family for your loss. Being a childhood friend of Leon's, I suppose the best of many memories would have to be having sleep overs at his house and tormenting customers from up stairs as they entered the restaurant. We of course would continue this only until his dad would come out of the bar to lay down the law. And having all those chairs and tables from the dining room to make blanket forts with was awesome. I could go on and on. Unfortunately, we lost touch over the years, but those memories will last forever. Rest in peace my old friend.

Cub Scouts with Mrs. Kern as the Den Mother, Pre-teens best friends, first job working at the Fernbrook Inn, First Golf Balls hit together with Leon's Dad, First time on a golf course in Lehman, First time playing poker with Leon's Dad, First Time to the Jersey Shore (Avalon), Motor cyle riding on the tracks, Catfishing, clam bakes, Family parties, First Beers together, First girl hunting together, First Double Dates, Going off to school at DeVry, Room Mates for two years, Best Man at My First wedding, My Home Town Best Friend who was always there. His Father is happy to see him! We are already missing him. Peace Leon. Until we meet again....

if ni look back on his life i remember meany things .. he was very kind . never looked down on anyone , was always willing to help and be there for anyone, and a great shuffleboard partner .and a good friends, he was like his father and . in many ways. there is no way for me to come up and i so wish at times like this i was there . but he would tell me not to worry anyway that was leon,,never worried and alway doing.... good by my friend and cousin. you will be missed .... by all you ever met and by the family the most
