Obituary of Michael George Nestorick

Michael G. Nestorick, age 67 of Hunlock Creek, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Nestorick was born in Wilkes-Barre on January 3, 1946 and was the son of the late Michael and Frances Jasonis Nestorick. Michael was a 1963 Graduate of GAR High School and served in the Army Reserves. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, and was employed by Thompson Consumer Electronics as a Machine Attendant, retiring after 34 years of service. Michael was Scoutmaster of Troop 418, and was a 4th degree member of the Nanticoke Council 913 Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, the former Carol Archacavage; sons Michael Nestorick of Hunlock Creek, and Daniel Nestorick and his wife Jennifer of Hunlock Creek; father- in- law, Benjamin Archacavage of Hunlock Creek; brother, Daniel Nestorick and his wife Jean of Pine Bluff, AR; sisters, Lorraine Smalls and her husband Bob of Wilkes Barre, Frances Dukes and her husband Glen of Hudson; various nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24, 2013 at 9:30 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM from Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, with the Rev. Ronald W. Check and Rev. Richard Fox, officiating. Interment will be in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Lake Silkworth. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Troop 418, 1007 S. Market St., Nanticoke, PA 18634, which will be used to financially assist scouts attending summer camp.
