Obituary of June Rimple Houser

June Rimple Houser entered into the house of our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 4, 2024 at the age of 95. She was born in Dunmore on March 31, 1929 to the late Thomas Marlon and Alyse Rimple, and lived the majority of her life in Dallas and Lehman, PA. She was a 1947 graduate of Kingston Township High School.
June is very well known for her love of music and her accomplished piano playing. She was the Children's Choir Director and pianist for the Trinity Presbyterian Church, Dallas, PA, and more recently played for the Kunkle United Methodist Church, Kunkle, PA. She also taught piano privately for a number of years. All would join around the piano at holidays and family get-togethers for singing and listening to June play, In addition, she was a bookkeeper, legal secretary, and foster grandparent.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marlon "Butch" Rimple. She is survived by her daughter, Jackee Shrader and husband Harold; granddaughter, Alyssa Horvath; nephews, Kenneth Rimple and wife Kris and Mark Rimple; and great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM from the Shavertown United Methodist Church, 163 N. Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown, PA 18708, with Pastor Dave Walker officiating. Family will be accepting visitation from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the church before the service. A burial will follow at Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton, PA.
It is requested that those attending the service not be dressed in black, and instead be colorful to celebrate June.
Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
