Obituary of Glenda Lee Maransky

Glenda Lee Maransky, age 69 of Sweet Valley, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at home, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Mrs. Maransky was born in Shickshinny on November 26, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Lester and Marguerite Allen Ruckle. Glenda was a graduate of Northwest Area High School in 1961. She was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth. Her devotion in life was to God, her husband, family, and friends. Since her school days, Glenda kept in touch faithfully with her penpal Janet of England. Mrs. Maransky is survived by her husband of 50 years, Martin Maransky; sons, Michael Maransky and his wife Amy of Virginia, and Martin "Chris" Maransky and his wife Michelle of Kingston Twp.; brothers, Allen Ruckle and his wife Helen of Shickshinny, Donald Ruckle and his wife Lora of Hunlock Creek, and Robert Ruckle and his wife Terrie of Shickshinny; grandchildren, Nicole, Nathan, and Matthew; many nieces, nephews, cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 at 10:30 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am from the Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, with Rev. Richard Fox officiating. Friends may call 2-4 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the St. Casimir's Cemetery, Hunlock Twp. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to the Medical Oncology Prescription Assistance Fund, 382 Pierce St., Kingston, PA 18704 or contributions of the donor's choice.
