Obituary of Donna L. King
Donna L. King, age 69 of Lake Silkworth, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.
She was born in Nanticoke on June 23, 1955 and was the daughter of Donald Walters of Brookside, NJ and the late Isabel Lynn Walters.
Donna graduated from West Morris Regional High School, Chester, NJ and received her bachelor's degree in nursing from LCCC. She then married her husband, William King, Sr. on July 3, 1983. Donna retired from Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, serving in the Endoscopy Department. She was a member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, Hunlock Creek. Donna enjoyed gardening, camp fires at home and was an avid New York Giants fan.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by sister, Diane Walters.
In addition to her father, Donna is survived by her husband of 41 years, William King, Sr.; step-sons, Aaron King (Jessica) of Shavertown and William King, Jr. of Hunlock Creek and his children, Colby and Pacelyn; brother, Clark Walters of Hunlock Creek; dogs, Hershey and Max; several cats.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Geisinger ICU as well as the current and retired family of nurses that put Donna and her family at ease during her final days.
