Obituary of Carl William Howie Sr.
Carl W. Howie, age 75 of Plymouth, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.
He was born in Weehawken, NJ on November 24, 1948 and was the son of the late Carl and Dorothy Thaler Howie.
Carl spent his life in Christian service and counseling. He also managed a drug and alcohol rehab center for 14 years. Carl served is the US Army as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Plymouth and enjoyed woodworking, golfing and creating art. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Florence; brother, Bobby Thaler.
Carl is survived by his wife, the former Joye Zuranski; children, Pamella Vonohlen (Edward, Jr.), Pastor Carl Howie (Jill), Laura Pitcher (David); grandchildren, Larissa, Kyle, Danielle, Dustin, Danae, Dakota, and Savina; great-granddaughters, Tara, and Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Faith Baptist Church, 39 Gaylord Ave, Plymouth, PA 18651, with his son, Pastor Carl Howie of Outlet Bible Tabernacle Church, Dallas, officiating.
A Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM before the service at the church.
Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek
Private interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Wyoming.
