Obituary of Edward Leroy Ridall

Edward "Roy" Ridall, age 99 of Benton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Allied Hospice, Meade St., Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Shickshinny on November 18, 1924 and was the son of the late Ernest and Rebecca Ridall. Roy retired from the Garrison Elementary School of the Northwest School District, where he was the custodian. He was a member of the Living Word Baptist Church, Sweet Valley. Roy enjoyed hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Maude Douthat, Margaret Johnson, Cora Doty, Marion Shultz and Jean Conger; brothers, Gaylord and Jack Ridall. Roy is survived by sisters, Sarah Ridall and Kathleen Crispell; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM from the Living Word Baptist Church, 40 Hess Lane, Sweet Valley, PA 18656, with Rev. Raymond D. Purdy, Jr., officiating. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. Memorial donations can be made to Living Word Baptist Church, 40 Hess Lane, Sweet Valley, PA 18656. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Associated Home Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre and Allied Hospice for their compassionate care given to Roy.
