Obituary of Ralph Michael Stogoski
Please share a memory of Ralph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ralph M. Stogoski Jr. "Ske", (77), of Dallas, PA, passed away on October 30, 2023 at Geisinger Danville, surrounded by his family.
Born June 11, 1946 at Nesbitt Hospital in Kingston. He was the son of the late Ralph M. Stogoski Sr. and the late Audrey Stogoski (Kocher) of Dallas.
Ralph is survived by his wife Sharon of 49 years and two children; son Eric and his wife Tiffany Stogoski and daughter Bobbi and her husband Shawn Potter; his grandchildren Luke Stogoski, Kate Stogoski and Miles Potter. He is also survived by his best friend and loving sister Judy Cennamo and her husband Charles and her children Jody and her husband Brian Bognansky and Shawn Magda. His other brothers and sisters, Billy, Cindy, Diane, and Audrey. His sister-in-law Cathy Vilewinski and her husband Gene; close nephews Andrew Verdekal and his wife Julie, and Ryan Verdekal; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ralph was a veteran of the US Army. He served in Fulda, Germany, until he was injured and sent to the St. Albans Naval Hospital where he was medically discharged from the service.
Ralph worked as a general contractor, Ralph Stogoski & Son. His dad taught him and eventually he taught his son the business. He took great pride in his work. He'd come home from the grocery store with two new jobs just by his vibrant personality. The man could talk and was a great story teller. It was a gift.
Ralph was an avid bowler, fisherman and hunter. Later in life, he loved woodworking as a hobby. He loved spending time with his son Eric in the woods and was lucky enough to hunt in different places across the country with hunting buddies. It was always a good day in the woods regardless if they got anything. We don't know what he loved more, hunting or all the food he made and consumed on his trips. The man could also eat. He made Christmas breakfast for his family and friends. A family tradition that we'll continue with family and friends serving the best home fries and eggs surrounded by the most important people in his life. Ralph had the pleasure of returning to Alaska with his wife on three occasions. It was his dream come true. He paraglided off the mountain of Mt. Alyeska, Alaska and convinced his daughter to do the same on his last adventure there. He was a legend.
19 years ago the doctors told us we had 15 years left with him. He was so happy to say he got to be here for all the good stuff. Especially his 3 grandchildren. Being there for their big stuff. Graduation, Honor Society, births, the kids sports, teaching them how to cheat at cards, sneaking them snacks and sharing his stories with them. He loved those kids so much. We called the last 4 years the BONUS years. He beat all the odds. He was so strong. If it weren't for the love of his life, Sharon and his team of wonderful doctors it never would've been possible. She fought for him, advocated and loved him through all of this. Everyone deserves a Sharon. Truly. We should all be so lucky. Thank you to Dr. Satti of Temple, Dr. Brozena and Dr. Mathers of University of Penn Medicine, Dr. Kevin Carey and Dr. Saporito for their exceptional care through the years.
