Obituary of Robert Gene Mahoney
Robert G. Mahoney, age 75 of Sweet Valley, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Carverton on May 15, 1947 and was the son of the late Wilson and Elsie Moss Mahoney.
Robert served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam era. He later attended DeVry University. Robert then moved back home and worked for Proctor and Gamble. He was a self employed contractor for several years, where he was a master welder and electrician. Robert volunteered at Luzerne County Fair Grounds and the Lake Lehman Marching Band, and was involved with Craftsman of the Endless Mountain for many years. He loved to fish, especially in Canada, hunt, garden, and was a wood worker.
Robert is survived by his wife, the former Colette Kashuboski; children, Robin Brigman (Larry) of Wallace, SC, Robert, Jr. of Sweet Valley, Candice Fite (James) of Rock Hill, SC, Matthew (Regina) of Germany; and Kelly Mahoney of Ames, IA; brothers, Dennis, Daniel, Thomas, and Rodney; sisters, Dianne Elston, Rosanne Womer, Karen Pugh, and Pam Mahoney-Casey; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Rick Womer of the Tunkhannock Assembly of God Church, officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
