Obituary of Eleanor Adams
Please share a memory of Eleanor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The family of Eleanor Adams is deeply saddened to announce the passing of their beloved mother, on Monday, October 31, 2022.
She was born in Edwardsville on April 12, 1926 and was the daughter of the late John and Susan Fetsko.
She married her high school sweetheart George Adams and had four daughters. Eleanor was a wonderful, loving, devoted, and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always put her family first and will be greatly missed. Eleanor went to Edwardsville High School and was a majorette in the band. She looked forward to her alumni meeting every month. Eleanor went on to be a registered nurse and graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She was a very proud to be an alumni of "Jeff" and until the pandemic, attended the yearly luncheon every May. Eleanor loved her profession and was made to be a nurse. She was always taking care of someone in the family. Many of Mom's patients and their families became life long friends.
Eleanor loved animals, especially dogs and taught us to be kind to them and always had dogs when we were growing up. She enjoyed family vacations at Ocean City, New Jersey. She spent the whole day at the beach. She enjoyed her Friday night dinners out with the family at many restaurants, specifically Irem, where Fred then the staff treated her like Gold. She loved to watch the "polkas" on TV and loved chocolate. She always had African Violets and Christmas Cactus in the house and loved to see them bloom. The family will greatly miss her presence in their lives and know God will meet her with open arms.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George.
Eleanor is survived by daughters, Georgeann Jones (Kent) of Dallas, Jacklyn Davis (Jack) of Harveys Lake, Linda Scott (Wayne) of Georgia, and Ellen Mulqueen (Jay) of Dallas; grandchildren, Wayne, Rocky, Scott, Meghan, Jamie, Katie, Connor, and Riley; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
Due to Eleanor's love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Chip Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612.
