Obituary of Jan Samuel Valick

Jan S. Valick, age 71 of Hunlock Creek, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre on April 20, 1950 and was the son of the late Samuel J. and Ruth E. Cornell Valick.
Jan graduated from Lake Lehman High School in 1968, worked for PennDOT as an equipment operator and other various contractors. He enjoyed hunting and farming at the Cornell farm.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant sister, Jule Marie and grandparents, Willard and Emma Cornell.
Jan is survived by siblings, Judith S. Lucy (Edmund) of Woodlands, TX, Jennie Valick-Kopacz of Dallas, Jeffrey Valick of Hunlock Creek and Jason Valick (Heidi) of Blandon; 7 nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 12:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor W. James Pall of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 5876 Main Rd, Hunlock Creek, PA 18621.
