So sorry to hear of Mrs. Strawser's passing. Along with my parents, I attribute my disciplined work ethic to Mrs. Strawser. As a student she didn't allow me to be lazy and always insisted on my best efforts in school. As a career educator, first as a teacher and as a principal I often tell my students stories of my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Strawser and how she made me work hard when I didn't want to (like learning multiplication tables!) and how she worked closely with my parents to keep me on track. I'll always remember those notes Mrs. Strawser used to send home "Donald and I are sorry to say we did not do our work today". Oh boy was I in trouble! I look for those special qualities in the teachers I supervise today.
