Joseph F. "Big Joe" Chickson, age 51 of Lake Silkworth, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at home. He was born in Nanticoke on May 18, 1970 and was the son of the late Joseph D. and Eleanore Konigus Chickson. He graduated from Lake Lehman High School, Class of 1988, and served in the US Navy, serving two tours in Desert Storm and Iraq, respectfully. Joe was employed as a Union Journeyman Electrician, IBEW 163. He was a loving father, partner, grandfather, and friend. Joseph is survived by soulmate, Christine Carey; son, Joseph D. Chickson, at home; step-daughter, Sara Kottler; sister, Kelly Ann Chickson; and grandchildren, Freya, Elias, and Ciri. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, Deacon Eugene Blockus of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, officiating. Due to COVID -19, masks will be required. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the funeral home with masks being required. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
