Obituary of Grayce Ann Hicks

Grayce Ann Hicks, age 89 of Dallas, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Meadows Manor, Dallas. Mrs. Hicks was born in Larksville on September 19, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Louisa Harrison Law. Grayce graduated from Larksville High School in 1945 and was employed at the former Stapinski's Drug Store in Dallas, prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Dallas and the Valley View Union Chapel in Larksville. Grayce kept herself busy by making plastic canvas ornaments for many friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Albert, who passed away in 1999 and sister, Florence Dennis. Grayce is survived by daughters, Carol Nygren and her husband Robert of Sweet Valley, Tena Zekas and her husband Ronald of Shavertown and Louise Hicks of Meshoppen; brothers, Robert Law of Dallas and Thomas Law of Larksville; sister-in-law, Betty Lou Brown of Kingston; grandchildren, Daniel Nygren and his wife Becky of Wyoming, Josh Wood and his wife Chelsi of Mansfield, Adam Wood of Bowling Green, OH, and Rachel and Courtney Russell of Mansfield; great-granddaughter, Carlie Grayce Nygren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Ronald Cease of the Valley View Union Chapel, Larksville, officiating. Friends may call 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Shavertown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Valley View Union Chapel, #10 Mosswood Dr., Larksville, PA 18651.
